Accès students are enrolled at the Université de Strasbourg, one of the most prestigious institutions of higher education in Europe.
Most students take the majority of their courses at the Institut International d’Études Françaises,(IIEF). Students are placed into one of six levels of French proficiency Within each level there is an intensive language block and a choice of French culture courses: literature, politics, art history, phonetics, etc.
Students with sufficient French can take courses for credit at the main faculté de lettres et sciences humaines with French students. Student with at least B2 level French are expected to take at least 1 such class.
Elective classes for Accès students
Accès hires local faculty to teach several courses to Accès students each semester. Most are taught in English.

- Museums and European Culture (3 credits)
- For advanced students, Accès can help students to arrange part-time internships. (4 credits) and service learning projects (2 credits)
